so happy for school projects

ben has been working on a school project nearly all day.  and i couldn't be more excited about it.  he has to show a video of his family history.  do you know what that means?  LOTS of old family photos.  i could literally show you like 300 that are amazing & awesome [full of mustaches, large rim glasses & chubby cheeks] but i'll keep it to just a few...for now.

benny's parents.  look how pretty!
[bears, mustache, chunk...what's not to love?]
heck yeah short shorts in the mountains

and last but not least, the reason i'm scared to give birth...ben's giant little brother

first annual [i hope] oktoberfest

happy monday friends.  i hope you had a wonderful weekend full of rest and friends and fun.  we most certainly did.  it may have done me some good to do a little more 'work' than what i did but oh well.  friday ben & i ended up on a date, dinner & a movie.  the usual.  time to talk, time for entertainment.  we saw paranormal activity 3.  it's halloween what can i say?

saturday was some of our favorite things all rolled into one day.  we i slept in, we ate breakfast together, lounged around and then finally got ready for the day when the margraves rolled into town.  from there we headed over to the poston's for what would be the first ever oktoberfest.  my hope is that the poston's loved it so much that we could have one every year. [yes yes?]  they did such a sweet job turning their backyard into the most perfect fall getaway.  giant long table [big enough for all our friends], twinkle lights, buntings, tree canopy, friends, babies, tons of yummy food, campfire....it was awesome.  i may have taken far too many pictures and then proceeded to upload them all to blogger.  i may have.
ben riding moose.  don't worry anne, no animals were harmed in the making of this picture.
you're welcome cory
poston's-

thank you so much for planning, inviting, hosting & decorating for oktoberfest and on top of that feeding all of our friends.  thank you for opening your home [and yard] and blessing us with your friendship and hospitality.  we love you all dearly & are so thankful that we get to celebrate life with you all.  the good, the bad...the oktoberfest -all of it.

so lib came to town & of course we took advantage.  some girlfriends [and their babes] all piled into the poston's for a long-due visit.  contrary to the story these pics tell...there were adult friends there and not just babies.  but gosh they're so dang cute.
rach i thought you'd like this one...baaaahahahaha

annual birthday bonfire

i have about twenty posts in waiting so i think i may be on a blogging roll for about a week or so.  watch out world, someone finally uploaded her pictures. ow ow!  so life, what have we been up to?  we've had three days this week without a lot to do and one day with a giant headache so i feel like we have all the time in the world.  which is funny.  prior to that i feel like we've been busy and crazy and great.  here was one of the 'greats'.

each year we have a 4-way birthday bonfire out at my grandparents house in harrodsburg.  this year was a 3-way because a cousin couldn't make it but it was still a blast!  its fall in kentucky and it is so pretty to drive out into the country.  the whole drive, as we passed old fences, rolling hills and changing trees i was thinking about how blessed we are to live in a place where you get to see things like this.  the sun was shining and it was really windy so it looked like all the trees were dancing.  i need a good drive every now and then.  through mountains and tree tunnels - i'm for it.

grandma got all the little pumpkins, little pumpkins.
my little sister chels got rainboots as tall as leah's legs.  she couldn't walk.  it was awesome.
setting up for a good ol' fashioned bonfire

the little boys won't stay still long enough for me to get their pictures.  but i got the little girls!

benny throwing football with the kids.  yes chelsea is competing against little kids.  its her birthday, she does what she wants.
who's that hunk?
chels, friends, nick, pop &mom say "bring on the smores!"
this past birthday, 26, was a blast.  i'll recap on all the goodies i accumulated too.  they are definitely noteworthy & my friends and family are so kind and generous.  it's kind of unreal.  they know me well and that is awesome.  be back soon!
