FOR NARNIA!!!!!!!

this is how i feel today [i'm on the far left]

i feel like god's been doing some really cool things in my heart lately. he is showing me more and more of who he is. it is amazing to see all the ways that the lord is pursuing you, you just have to be looking for it.

getting caught up in day to day tasks is probably one of my greatest downfalls. i get terribly caught up in getting things "done" and i forget to look for how the lord is at work. in the end that doesn't mean that god stops working it just means that i miss out on all the joy there is in experiencing a daily walk with christ.

I think this line sums up my folly:

"The enemy of the best is the good." Wormwood, the devil's helper, in C. S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters wrote, "If you cannot make a man turn to evil, make him busy."
--that's my life--

in addition to this, i've had a theme of c. s. lewis running through my head all week, and god has really used it to draw me closer to him.

benny & i were watching the lion, the witch & the wardrobe the other night & a line really stuck with me. it was at the end of the movie when luci is talking with mr. tumnus and he says of Aslan: "He's not a tame lion." to which Lucy replies: "No... but he is good." that's just like our god! we can't box him up or predict what he'll do...but that's an awesome thing about our father! he's way bigger than our imagination and even more...he is so good.

we also had the huge blessing of having one of our graduating senior guys teach campaigners yesterday (that's a co-ed biblestudy for Lafayette students). it was so great to see the fruit that god was growing in his life. he read a quote from mr. lewis that always stirs my heart:

"if we discover a desire within us that nothing in this world can satisfy, also we should begin to wonder if perhaps we were created for another world."
--this also my life, & that's so awesome--

i'm keeping my eyes fixed on heaven.

  1. :) I feel excited about this. I feel like I need to read the rest of the Chronicles of Narnia, because I am sure there is all kinds of hidden goodness in the other books. I love you a lot.

  2. Jen!!
Our graduating Senior boys taught campaigners last night too! It was so encouraging to see how the Lord is truly moving in their lives and how they've grown over the last year. I loved it.

Also, I love that you all are blogging. It's bad news because I want to read them all and be distracted. And then get motivated to do other things besides work. As you can tell. Oh well, at least we work together. :)

    LOVE YOU!!!
